CHASE THE CHARIOT! (Acts 8:26-40)
- Our text tells of the time God used Philip, the deacon/evangelist in the early church to chase a chariot down and lead an Ethiopian eunuch to Jesus! This story reminds us of 3 important truths.
- We all have a God-given purpose. (Psalm 139:14-17; Jer. 1:5; Jer. 29:11; Eph. 2:10)
- The message of salvation is universal. (John 3:16; Romans 10:13)
- Sharing the Gospel is essential. (Romans 10:14-15)
- The chariot in this story represents the will and the work of God, and we see Philip chasing the chariot. Are you chasing the chariot in your life? From our text we find 4 necessities in order to chase the chariot..and catch it.
- WE MUST HAVE AN AWARENESS OF GOD!
- To be aware of God we must live with gratitude.
- To be aware of God we must live in prayer.
- To be aware of God we must live in the Word.
- To be aware of God we must live in the Spirit.
- To be aware of God we must live in worship.
- WE MUST HAVE A WILLINGNESS TO GOD!
- We must recognize Gods way is always the best.
- We must recognize Gods way always leads to satisfaction.
- WE MUST HAVE A FAITH IN GOD!
- Remember, God has always been faithful in the past.
- Remember, God is always capable in the present.
- Remember, God already knows the future!
- WE MUST HAVE A PASSION FOR GOD!
- The will of God is never reached accidentally.
- The Will of God can only be reached intentionally.
Are you going to chase the chariot in your life or are you going to just watch it ride away and become out of reach? There is no greater peace than the peace that comes from being in the will of God!
